Events
The events that Blue Idea organizes are opportunities of knowledge sharing and of debating on the industry's problems, but also excuses for a sort of entertainment that advertisers seem to enjoy most. In that sense, ADfel encourages creativity in unconventional advertising, AdBreak brings advertisers together over a pint of beer in order to discuss the issues they're concerned with in a relaxed atmosphere, but also in order to stimulate the competitive spirit (don't tell them we said that). In order to save the industry from the effect of long nights that always end with pizza and beer, Blue Idea organizes Agencies' Football Cup, and to promote artists, whether they're in advertising or not, each year the digital film festival, Kinofest, is held. Events from the SMARK KnowHow series make the voices of Romanian and international professionals heard as they share their knowledge with their younger colleagues in the industry.
ADfel, the only unconventional advertising event in Romania, sets out to promote alternative thinking in advertising and unconventional methods through which brands can communicate their message to the consumers.
The event hosts, every year, for 7 days, courageous brands, that are ready to show, both through unconventional executions and through smart happenings, how to advertise in a simple and efficient manner, by turning communication into an entertainment process, based on interaction with the young, one of the most important “targets” of brands' current strategies and the most capable of “experiencing personalized advertising”.
During the 5 ADfel editions that have taken place so far, 80 brands have offered unconventional entertainment to their consumers, engaging them in acts of interactive communication. At each edition, over 20.000 people have interacted with over 250 innovative ideas implemented.
ADfel Workshops (intensive program of trainings and coaching sessions for advertising juniors) and Grand Spoof (the only ad parody competition in Romania) take place each year at ADfel.
AdBreak is the only monthly event dedicated to advertising enthusiasts, from the aspiring young to respected professionals of the advertising and marketing industries in Romania.
Since 2005, at each edition, AdBreak sets out to bring to front, for the IQads community members, the most important professionals of the industry and to open for debates the current hot topics in Romanian advertising.
Every year, for 2 days, the strategy, creativity and vanities of advertisers meet at the Agencies' Football Cup. The event involves over 250 marketing and communication people at each edition and over 1.000 minutes of play time.
In numbers, the Cup can be summed up to: 2 center referees, 3 football pitches, 8 groups, 32 teams and 64 games.
At the end, the best 3 agencies are selected and some special prizes are awarded, among which: 'Competition's Goal-getter' (also known among the participants as 'The most Effie' player), 'The most animated group of supporters' and 'The best goal'.
Agencies' Football Cup is a traditional meeting place for the people in the advertising industry, on a different kind of pitch, being an event organized by an acknowledged player of the industry – IQads.
Digital SuperHeroes is a monthly event that presents the best online practices in .ro and the most suitable people to raise these issues. Because it was about time that the online environment had it's own informal event where people could debate about the most interesting campaigns that take place within a certain month, but also interesting and complex subjects, such as the measurement of a campaign's objectives and online brand coherence.
And because we needed online heroes that could save the clients from resultless campaigns, which mis-target or are way over budget in comparison with the results, people that could be appointed as good practice examples for fellow industry professionals and also for industry wannabes.
The series of SMARK KnowHow events represents a public SMARK consultancy service. The conferences, trainings and workshops approach punctual and relevant topics for the marketing community professionals in Romania. In a time when most brands seem interested in winning the Promotions Championship, putting their image campaigns on the bench indefinitely, IQads invites consumers to help courageous brands, that still have a story to tell, speak up. Brand Film Festival (BFF) is the first Romanian festival where brands brief consumers for creating clips or short movies.
Since most UGC (User Generated Content) competitions don't bring out the most of Romanian consumers' creative potential, IQads suggests brands to brief them according to their creativity. The 8 creation competitions organised by IQads are among the opportunities they have had to manifest their qualities, successfully involving the local creative community. These competitions have proven that brands can generate buzz and creative engagement in social networks as well as at the events where finalist films were projected.
Atelierele IQads Kadett represents a special program of intensive trainings and coaching sessions created for young people who want to work in advertising. During a week, the teams of participants experiment working in an advertising agency, all the way from the client briefing to the final presentation. Under the guidance of advertising professionals, they go through every step of an advertising campaign. After the presentations, their work is being marked and the winners get the opportunity of going in agency internships.
